6 for 5+ at The Grind. We ventured west to visit the North Shore Canal trail to get in some speed work. Needed to work off some of those holiday pounds with a bit extra on the trails with some pain stations along the way.
Glorious morning for it. We welcomed T-Bone the group, free lifetime membership for this fella. Hope to have him back again.
COT we read “Man in the Arena” from Teddy Roosevelts speech “Citizens of the Republic” delivered in Paris 1910. It’s a great message and proves why we come out in the gloom. When in need we lean into the group through our shared experiences. The men who show up understand that point for they too see the value in the power of the group and to show support for the man who takes the risk by making the attempt at life. We all choose not to sit on the sideline of life and choose to surround ourselves with other men living the life “in the arena”.
