Kodak here giving you the BB – I asked HackeySack if I could submit because 1. He’s been leading the AO and taking the Q too often, I wanted to share the load and mainly reason 2. I’ve been struggling w/ a covid recovery that I wanted to share a perspective from the rear.
This is what it looked like:

Moleskin : I was getting ready, but had a stomach that wasn’t settling and thinking ‘ah shit – this too?’ I knew I’d be struggling w/ my stamina and now another hurdle to face … not only was I an early HC for RunClub, but I had my shoes on and contacts in. I did not want to back out. I’m used to being a back-of-the-pack guy, but have really been struggling w/ recovery and a few bodily functions lately. Unable to find my breath, stomach stuff, sore muscles, and deffo some brain-fog have been dragging me down and there is no place to hide during RunClub – no reps count to shorten or form to cheat on – you run the route and guys wait on you. There’s some pressure. I’ll also say – it’s tempting to stay away. When running w/ some rabbits, there’s some pressure to keep them motivated and I wondered, while running, if what we’re doing for the six is enough or balanced or too much fluff.
On the run out, I had a quick chat w/ meatloaf and then immediately lost a few steps in the group; I encouraged him to get ahead. Then the Madoff / McFeely pairing signaled they’d stick w/ me and I didn’t want that either : “I know where I’m at physically and I know where we’re going, keep pushing yourself” I gasped and thankfully they pushed ahead, getting 100-200m ahead of me by the end of the 1.75mi run. When I arrived, heh, they were all holding a plank and waiting, dang – that musta been a while. Reps on the fitness court and we headed back.
Once again, immediately found myself as the Six, but the whole group ran the distance and then circled back. It was cool; I think we do a good job pushing the six and keeping him part of the group – while pushing the 12 as well. We have a great culture. Good job fellas; no one should be hiding from the RunClubs, get out here and push yourself! /Kodak (for HackeySack) out!
