Conditions: 50 and sprinkling
Warm-up: Windmills, pushups, squats, motivators
Ankle PT: shuffle step, Carioca, skipping, high knees, high knee backwardsingle leg deadlift, gate step0ver inside out, gate stopover outside in, dot drills double leg and single leg
Thang: Workout deck
Rules of the road: we used a standard deck of cards. Cards were shuffled and dealt, approx 6 to each pax. We circled up and took turns calling and leading the exercises as drawn from the deck. Math was a problem more than once.
- Hearts: pushups
- Diamonds: situps
- Spades: Lunges (R+L)
- Clubs: Turkish get up
- 2-10: same # of reps as the card #
- Jack 11 reps, queen 12 reps, king 13 reps, ace 15 reps
- Joker: 20 burpees (Kodak held and played all the jokers with glee)
- 3 of a kind in a row or a run of 3 of a suit: 1 lap around the field or 60 second plank, dealer’s choice
This was a fun way to mix up the order and reps of a workout and each pax had a few turns to lead. We ran out of time and didn’t quite finish the deck, but more fun for next time.
