6 PAX turned out in near ideal conditions for The Weekly Grind. At The Situation’s suggestion we went a bit lighter to start. Then I introduced my friends to The Quarry. Three rows of boulders. Inclined merkins. Dips. And step-ups. Finished at the top of the hill with burpees. About 265 reps by each HIM. We ran it back goose style for coffeeteria. The PAX really pushed each other today. Felt great to get the hard work done early.
We didn’t climb a mountain, but our boulder experience reminded me of a Muhammad Ali quote: “It isn’t the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out, it’s the pebble in your shoe.”
We all have a pebble of some sort in our shoe or in our minds. Something we said that didn’t come out right, some small wrongs that keep bubbling up. Mental battle month is behind us, but we all know the battle can go a full 12. Encouraged each of us to be the bigger person, find forgiveness, and soak in the incredible spring day ahead. Life’s too short. Tomorrow is never guaranteed. We do more than merkins.
