The Thang

Pax walked to nearby track hauling two coupons each.  There, we engaged in a three round workout, loosely derived from the Marine Corps fitness test and combat readiness test.

Round 1

Pax run laps of a 1/4 mile track

After each lap, pax do 34 merkins and 44 crunches

Repeat for 4 – 6 laps

Round 2

Pax run a 440 lap at max speed

After each lap, 25 overhead presses

Repeat for 1 -2 laps

Round 3

Pax go 50 yards (down and back) alternating between bear crawl and sprint

Pax pick up 2 coupons and haul them 25 yards down and back

Repeat as long as time allows

Focus this week was on coveting.  We’ve often heard the teaching to not covet.  This can be hard enough.  The even bigger challenge, though, is not being jealous of others’ joy.  Strive to rejoice in others’ joy.  Inspired by Marylynne Robinson’s Gilead.
