The Thang

We retreated to a shady spot on the Tundra to start the coupon work. I had a playlist lined up, and for each song, we did one exercise (e.g., curls, chest press, etc.). Once each PAX got to 30 reps of that exercise, he ran/skipped/etc. (the medium of movement varied each song) to a designated point and did 3 burpees, 5 merkins, or 8 squats (his choice). Once those were done, he came back to his coupon (the same way as he left) and started up with the coupon until the song was over. In between each song, we had a one-minute intermission as a breather. After about five songs, runs in the sprinkler were incorporated as an option instead of squats/merkins/etc. We finished with a group sprinkler run as our cool down.

COT

I was downstate visiting my family this past week, and I started talking about politics with my dad. We very much disagree on politics, and I caught myself being very angry and thinking he’s stupid for the positions he takes. I respect and admire my dad a lot, so I simmered a bit and tried to see things a bit more from his perspective. It’s easy to get angry with people we disagree with, but I think most people are generally good at their core, we just all think and approach things differently. Next time you’re in a similar situation, take a moment and consider the person is (likely) a good human being, and try to be respectful.
