The Thang

I wanted to do something a bit different, so we did a running architectural tour of Frank Lloyd Wright homes in Oak Park. We ran by six FLW homes in total, and at each one, we stopped and did an exercise with reps that corresponded to the year the house was built or the house number. Our first stop, the Harry S. Adams House, was built in 1913, for example, and we did 13 burpees. At each stop, a brief background and history of the house was provided. In total, I think we got about 2.5 miles in and six different exercises.

COT

FLW was an interesting and “complex” person, but one of my favorite quotes from him is, “Regard it as just as desirable to build a chicken house as to build a cathedral. The size of the project means little in art, beyond the money matter. It is the quality of the character that really counts. Small task or large task, it’s important to give our best.
