Intro

It was a brilliant 17℃ this morning at the Humbolt Park Boathouse. There was no breeze to greet us and the humidity was low and manageable. To top it off, Mars, Jupiter, Venus, the Moon and eventually the International Space Station greeted us. I was the only HC on Slack so I was confident I’d be doing burpees AMRAP but then Sarge showed up to save the day. So with that I needed to pivot and pivot I indeed did.

The Thang

YHC was not interested in doing burpees this morning. Just a lazy QIC so instead we did some exercises around parking spot drills.

For this, we started at one end of the parking lot. Using the parking space separators as our guide, we jogged, side stepped, and backpedaled to an exercise. Once done, rinse and repeat until you’re at the other end of the lot. Each time you stop to do an exercise, you add 1.

For the first round we did merkins. The second round was Bonnie Blairs. The third round was Absolutions but in reverse. So for round three, instead of starting at 1 and counting up, we started at 8 and counted down. Lesson learned: Absolutions on cement will destroy your elbows and wrists.

After those three rounds, we managed to find half a coupon so using that, we did alternating exercises. For the first round, one PAX did big boy sit ups with the half coupon while the other PAX did 20 air squats. After that we switched. Rinse/repeat until a total of 75 situps were completed. The second round was kettle bell swings and 20 dips.
