The Thang

I had a playlist setup, with each song around 3:30-4:00 minutes long and a one-minute instrumental break after every two songs. During the songs, we performed one exercise (e.g., curls), and when pax got to 30 reps, they went to the light pole and did three burpees.  To get to the light pole, they either ran, skipped, butt kicked, etc. (varied based on the song). During the instrumental break, we rested, stretched, etc. We got through about eight songs and ended right on time.

COT

I love music (as you can probably tell), but my formal education ended in about eighth grade (so a long time ago). My wife and I recently bought a piano for her to play on and for our kids to learn. I’ve never played the piano before, or any musical instrument for that matter, but my wife has started to give me lessons in the last couple of weeks. I feel kind of ridiculous being a grown man and learning to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, but you have to start somewhere. The music sheets were just dots to me a few weeks ago, but now that I understand them a little bit, it feels like a whole new world has opened up. I look forward to playing (if you can call it that) and feel energized to learn more. I would encourage you to try something new – however small (or things you might have wanted to do as a kid) – it’s energizing and helps you grow as a person. It’s never too late!
