The BackBlast:

Conditions were perfect at the Hill. We were joined by VQ, a DR out of Sacramento who brought his BIL, Popeye, from LA. Great men, great conversation.

Warm-O: SSHs, side lunges, plank walk ups, high knees, butt kickers, toe touches.

Put on our rucksacks and headed over to the Hill. Started with a slow 10 burpee buy in to get going. Sweet N Low led us up the Hill first. At the top we did 10 squats. Hiked down.
DQ led us uphill with a front carry. At the top we did 10 squats + 10 rucksack raises. Hiked down.
Popeye led us uphill with an overhead(rifle) carry. At the top we did 10 squats + 10 rucksack raises + 10 shoulder taps. Hiked down.
Shuffled right for 50 yards, reversed for 50 yards.
Escobar led us uphill. At the top we did 10 squats + 10 rucksack raises + 10 shoulder taps + 10 merkins. Hiked down.
Lunged 30 yards. Lots of audible groans. YHC led us up one last time, this time rucking backwards. Did 15 IC imperial walkers at the top.

CoT: shared a poem by one of my favorite writers and farmers, Wendell Berry, titled “What We Need is Here”.
Reminded the guys to be present. Loved sharing time on the Hill with these men. Coffeeteria followed.
