The Thang Run Club:
Partner-up. Four running path options are provided, PAX choose their own individual Happy Path: 1 mile, 2.25 miles, 3 miles or 4 miles.
After completing the individually selected running path, PAX return to the Wreck Center and pickup a 25 or 35 pound weight and walk around the soccer field waiting for their partner to return. When the second partner returns to the Wreck Center they meet their partner who is carrying the weight and proceed to hand the weight off. The new partner with the weight continues to walk around the soccer field while the other partner performs 15 side straddle hops, 15 merkins, and 15 squats consecutively. Once the reps are completed, the partner runs forward to meet up with his partner and exchange the weight again. Repeat several times until all PAX arrive back at the Wreck Center.
We all have the choice to pursue our own Happy Path on a daily basis. Like most things, it takes consistent practice to see change and improvement. Three easy ways to to prioritize and practice happiness daily:
- Get a small win and recognize yourself. (It can be anything from making your bed, taking out the trash, showing up to a F3 work out, meeting a deadline at work, helping with the kids, being on time. Be proud of your wins and daily accomplishments.)
- Get the body moving and blood flowing. (Exercise and body movement can have a profound impact on mental health.)
- Do something kind for someone. (Show gratitude to a family member or friend, compliment a co-worker, open the door for a stranger.)
