The Thang
It was another rainy day on the Tundra, so we collectively decided to head to the gazebo and do what we did last week (with some modifications) rather than the original workout I had planned, which would have required us to be out in the open. It was a circuit-based workout, involving coupons and body weight exercises. We did each exercise for a certain period of time (e.g. 30 seconds), had a brief rest to reposition, and went on to the next one. Goal was to keep moving the whole time.
COT
The shooting yesterday in Texas has been weighing heavily on my mind. As a father and just general fellow human being, I can’t imagine what the families, friends, and loved ones of the victims are going through right now. In times like these, I find comfort in the words of Psalm 23, which was written by David during a dark time while he was fleeing from King Saul (who wanted to murder him). There is a lot of deep darkness in this world, but we must cling to the good and have hope (regardless of what your religious beliefs – or lack of beliefs – you have).
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
