Two years ago today, a 22-year-old man went for a run into a nearby neighborhood. While running, 3 men grabbed their guns, jumped in their pickup truck, chased him down, and murdered him because of the color of his skin. His name was Ahmaud Arbery. Ahmaud was unable to finish his run. So on the 2-year anniversary of Ahmaud Arbery’s murder, 5 strong pax gathered to finish his run.

Finishing Ahmaud’s Run – After carrying our coupons over to the north baseball backstop, we moseyed north out of Oak Park and into Chicago’s Galewood neighborhood. After running 1.2 miles, we stopped and took an unexpected moment to acknowledge Ahmaud and reflect on how fortunate we are to enter unfamiliar neighborhoods without worry. We then joined many others around our country in running 2.23 miles back to The Tundra to complete the run Ahmaud was unable to finish.
