Conditions: 70s and humid, sunny
WaR: mountain man poopers, windmills, accelerating runs, skips, high knees, butt kickers, backward run, side shuffles
- 3.2 mile loop through south oak park, stopping at all 6 parks in South Oak Park: Euclid, Lincoln School, Maple, Rehm, Barrie and Irving school.
- Fartlek means speed play, so we did a one block burst of speed every time we passed Ridgeland Ave, Oak Park Ave, Home Ave, Lombard Ave and Maple Ave.
- In each park, we did pushups and situps. First pax to arrive performed 18 of each, second pax 16, third pax 14 … and so on down to 9th pax did 2 reps of each exercise. This kept our group a little more together and allowed us to challenge all pax despite different running paces.
MoM: plank snake with the pax holding plank in a line while one pax ran through jumping over each pax then taking his turn in the line in a plank. We made it around one half of the soccer field at Irving.
CoT: Piggybacking on Footloose’s comments from Wednesday, I am appreciating and want to highlight the way that F3 is introducing me to new friends, but also it is allowing me to deepen friendships with old acquaintances in a meaningful way.
