With early morning daylight now in abundance, The Nunnery returned to our Summer home at Priory Park.

Conditions: 70*, calm, high humidity with a fog hovering over the Priory fields

Warmup:
Motivators x 5

Imperial Squat walkers x 10

Mountain Man Poopers x 10

Thang 1: Doubles Relay- One partner carried coupon the length of the soccer field and back while the other performed the exercise. They then swapped. The carry/exercise pair was as follows:

Farmer Carry / Blockies

Riffle Carry / Deadlifts

Double Farmer Carry / Merkins

Front Carry / Curls

Thang 2: Coupon Walk- We moseyed 0.6 miles through the park for a bit of chatter and performed the following carries.

Thang 3: 2 Team Relay

Team 1- Took turns shuttling Coupons to midfield on soccer pitch while Team 2 Performed reps of an exercise. The teams then switched and the team that performed the most reps won.

Originally I had the team members each building a wall of coupons before tagging the next teammate but we soon discovered that would take forever. We then switched to each team member taking turns with one coupon each to build the wall and then return. Needless to say, the team of Pebbles, Footloose, Foreman, Pantsdrunk and Total Recall blew the rest of us out of the water.

I love the River Forest Memorial Day Parade and like events that build community and help us feel like we are part of a small town and just one of the millions living in Chicago. The Oak Park Day In Our Village is just such an event. Let’s take part and build relationships across our villages.
