The BackBlast:

Warm-O-Rama

Welcomed all next to the shovel flag in the parking lot and got to it with 10-12 Windmills, Arm Circles (forwards and backwards), Overhead Claps, & Daisy Pickers in cadence.  Enjoyed taking one lap around the block of Trinity High School any way except forward walking/running.  After finishing our skipping, shuffling, and backpedaling acrobatics, we grabbed our coupons and moseyed to the water treatment plant’s grassy plateau.

The Thang

Lined up for some circuit training. I had an interval timer on my phone set to 30 seconds on repeat.  Listed / demonstrated the exercises and got to work:

Block 1: Coupon Block. Did 30 seconds each of

  1. Shoulder Press
  2. Squat
  3. Coupon Swings
  4. Reverse Lunges
  5. Lat Rows
  6. RECOVERY walk to Block 2

Block 2: Non-Coupon Block. Did 30 seconds each of

  1. Bobby Hurley’s
  2. Merkins
  3. Mummy Kicks
  4. High Plank Peter Parkers
  5. Skater Hops
  6. RECOVERY walk to Block 1

Completed 3 circuits then hauled our coupons back to the parking lot.

Words

Count off.  Warm welcome and name for FNG (Foreman)

I mentioned that when exposed to an opinion that I don’t initially agree with, I’m working to pause then ask the person offering the opinion a question about why they believe that or how they came to that conclusion.  Actively listen and try to understand where that person is coming from instead of instantly judging.  Just might get your own mind changed, but worse case you’ve spent a couple extra minutes getting to know someone better and re-affirming your own thoughts.

Most PAX, surprised by the fair weather, stayed for Coffeeteria hosted by Madoff.
