The BackBlast:

Conditions: 65*, calm and low humidity. A nice break from the past few weeks.

Warmup: Side Straddle Hops, Daisy Pickers, Breakdancers

Thang: PAX were divided into 2 groups and each group was given a map showing the approximate location of flags stationed within a half mile radius of the AO. To start, one team was sent North and the other South. Each team was instructed to visit each flag site and perform a prescribed exercise listed at the site. There they would find 1 flag worth 100 points and a set number of reps and another worth 50 and half the number of reps. Teams then raced back to the AO for flags worth either 200 or 100 points. Sounds complicated but fairly straight forward if you were there.

Exercises and reps

  1. Merkins 40/20
  2. Big Boys 40/20
  3. Bonnie Blairs 40/20
  4. Burpees 20/10
  5. No Surrender 40/20
  6. Shoulder Taps 40/20
  7. Bobby Hurleys 40/20
  8. Blockees 20/10

Reading the map was a challenge in the dark with few streetlights in the area. Since I set the course, I left it to Alliance and Pantsdrunk to navigate.  They did a phenomenal job.  The other team had to backtrack a bit.

Mary: Flutter Kicks, more Big Boys, Rotating Low Plank

COT: I must admit that after designing the course and staking out the flags early this morning, I was underprepared for COT. I thanked everyone for coming out and helping make the first few weeks of The Nunnery a success. I will put more thought into my reflections going forward.
