8 Pax showed up on a cloudy comfortable morning with the mindset to get some work done.

WoR: Side Straddle Hops, Mountain Man Poopers, Abe Vagodas (forward and back), Overhead Claps, Seal Claps

Thang 1:  Friendly Ruck for 3.3 Miles including walking over the Des Plaines River.  If we saw someone and they say “Hi” – 7 Merkins with backs on; they don’t say hi – 14 Merkins with packs on.  Did at least 50+ Merkins (Q lost track).  Also did 14 squats, 28 bear crawl steps.  Added in 2 Al Gores waiting for lights to change.  Got back right at 6:30 so had to skip Mary.

CoT:  Everything was done based on the number 14 to honor my son who just had his 14th birthday.  He also found out he’s having scheduled surgery on his eye (which has a tumor in it) in November.  While the surgery is fairly common, one of the potential side effects is that his eye could “fall apart” during surgery.  This scares me to my core.  While I have no reason to think things will go poorly, I can’t help but be scared by this.  The ruck took us over a bridge to a Cook County Courthouse (hence the Bridge over Troubled Water). Ultimately, we don’t know the trouble or challenges that others may be facing or worrying about.  Be friendly. Say hi to people.  You might not know how much they need it.
